Public policy draft
Privacy
This page describes the product’s current data practices in plain language. It requires owner and legal review before commercial launch.
Information the product handles
Visitors can use the public event finder without creating an account. The site records aggregate product analytics such as page views, searches, filter use, event views, saves, shares, and outbound action clicks. The product uses a first-party analytics cookie and local browser storage for limited state such as saved events, drafts, and preferences.
Organizer accounts and event submissions can include an email address, organization details, event information, and review history. Do not submit sensitive personal information in event descriptions or sponsorship notes.
Weekend email subscriptions include an email address, optional topic preferences, consent source and version, confirmation and subscription status, and the timestamps and provider identifiers needed to operate the list. Limited delivery events can include sent, delivered, bounced, complained, opened, clicked, suppressed, or unsubscribed.
Service providers
The product currently relies on Vercel for hosting and analytics, Supabase for organizer authentication and application data, Stripe for payment checkout and processing, and Resend for newsletter contacts and email delivery. Those providers handle information under their own terms and privacy practices.
CLT Activity Finder does not ask the app to store full payment card numbers. Card details are entered into Stripe Checkout.
Newsletter consent and choices
Newsletter signup uses confirmation by email. A subscriber is not added to the active list until they confirm. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link, and provider bounce, complaint, and suppression signals override active status.
Newsletter information is used to confirm subscriptions, send the weekend email, honor preferences and unsubscribe requests, prevent sending to suppressed addresses, diagnose delivery problems, measure aggregate performance, and protect the service from abuse. Newsletter links can include campaign parameters used to understand aggregate site visits and event actions from an issue.
Use, sharing, and retention
Information is used to operate the event finder, review submissions, manage sponsorships, measure product and placement performance, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests. Organizer or event information may become public when a listing is approved.
The product does not currently claim a fixed retention schedule or a blanket promise that data is never shared. Data may be shared with service providers as needed to operate the product or when required by law. Active subscription records are retained while the newsletter is provided, and limited suppression records may be kept to prevent unwanted future email. Broader retention and deletion procedures need owner and legal confirmation before launch.
